It's actually a makeup for Sherman Brothers, not the stock Alden shoe.

Perhaps it's the lighting but yours look like a different shade of snuff than my lwb. Are those on the Barrie? Not seeing the shoe on the Sherman Bros website.

Not on the site, but call them, they have it in snuff and a darker brown. It is Barrie, and I assume that you are right about the color difference being due to the lighting.

EDIT: To keep this from getting out of hand I would like to add that both fit and I have no problem. I just notice the boots seem to be ever so slightly smaller and actually look sleeker than the shoes. Just my opinion. YMMV

Thanks for the input on that.

Now I'm pissed, Alden SF just emailed me saying they're all sold out. Anyone know where I can get these ravello chukka's in 8.5D? Thanks.

Haha, pretty sure it means over-the-calf!

I bought a pair of Ravello chukka seconds from SM about 6 months ago in 8.5D. The "flaw" on mine is less noticeable than those stretch marks. Sorry.
