When I was 21, I was working a pretty physical job and I would drink a Carnation breakfast and have 2 slices of toast with a little peanut butter and I was always good until lunch. Plus it tasted fantastic. Now I'm liking a small bowl of the multi-grain cheerios and fruit, usually a banana.

Is my goto cereal in the morning. I like most all of them and order it by the case now as it's hard to find in Calgary and cheaper this way. We just took a trip to the UK and sampled some of the types that don't make it to Canada and enjoyed them greatly.

Isn't McD's breakfast your favorite thing in the world? I won't lie, the rare bacon egg and cheese biscuit meal is one of my fav treats.

I keep a big container of raw, unsalted almonds at my desk. I eat 20-30 of those most mornings.

I usually have 4 eggs with tomatoes and bacon chopped up and 3 scoops of whey mixed with 1% fat milk. Over 100g of protein and about 1000 calories.

Isn't that quite a lot of calories?

What do you do for a living? For a day laborer, this would be a great breakfast. For an office worker, not so much.

Hate to be the first to tell you. Your body can take up a lot of amino acid. But it won't convert more than about 45-55 g of that into proteins. The rest gets burned for fuel. Since amino acids contain nitrogen, they burn hotter than carbos or fats. Which means, eating more proteins vs. carbos just makes you hotter after a meal. And wastes money. And overloads you with fats and sterols (which are usually found along with naturally-occurring proteins).
