Well, you'll look like a traditional banker in the US too. Add Ferragamo or Hermes tie and black bit loafers to complete the look.

I remember those Paul Smith squares but haven't seen them recently. Almost got one myself; they're pretty cool.

Very, very sharp. Too much so for the C of conservative business dress, but I really like that. It's like giving the finger to normal dress code standards by going to a formal extreme rather than going casual.

Next time I wear one of mine, I'll post it in here.

Too tonally flat. Gives it an evening feel rather than something I'd wear for work.

Really liking this; probably my favourite look of yours. Much more saturated/richer colours than some of your other outfits, with is something I naturally tend to enjoy.

I dig all of this. Probably more for a casual day, but still, I really dig in.

Good man.

BTW, the shirt is great. If custom, what book/fabric?

I chose my college at university partly for its reputation for better-than-average food, partly for its wine cellar, partly because it's really pretty... and yes, partly because I liked the scarf colours.

You'll definitely stand out, not necessarily in a bad way.

But you make a good point that I could definitely have added navy trousers in the mix

I actually thought they were navy trou - hence the comment. I all looks pretty good though.

Blazer and odd pants may not be conservative business dress for most, but this is pretty typical of what I wear to work.

Thought I'd cross post today since two people commented on how conservatively I was dressed today.

gdl, Those trousers have no loops, my only pair of odd trousers in that configuration. I may get them sewn on, actually, as I think have enough cloth left over. I like the cleaner waistline on a suit, but maybe it is too dressy for wearing with odd jackets. Trini, White shirt would definitely be safer--that's more sober than I typically dress, though probably more classically within the limits of conservative business dress. Details of cloth on coat and shirt which are lost in the other pic (very small hopsack and micro gingham). I'm not terribly good at taking these, but here's a shot at it anyways.

Flash, hell. Admit it, Manton. You changed jackets just to screw with us.

Manton - what kind of cloth is that? Looks like a twill?

I've got a black on white cotton map of London in 1852 too, but I don't like it as much. I think Ordnance Survey Maps or Navigational Charts could make interesting pocket squares, but I've yet to find any.

cool square
