Many more double sole shoe should be goiser, or norvegese constructed.

The Goyser is a WONDERFUL stitch. Rough, rugged & beautiful to look at (as well as very strong and durable). Moo was a lucky son-of-a-gun those were HIS size, instead of mine!

Goyser is the perfect stitch to introduce someone to a "different style" of shoes, where the shoemaker's construction is out there for all to see, rather than neatly tucked away. Sort of like a "skeleton" watch. Once you've fallen in love with the goyser, the bentivegna & norvegese are almost sure to follow. Goyser is a "gateway drug"!

let me say, i was surprised to see them in context with this fine pair of shoes.

argyles are fine. though, i don't get much use out of them nowadays.

The point is, these stitches are all related. Maybe different origins, some more "refined and finished" and some more "rugged and rustic". The Bentivegna could certainly be done with a braided stitch instead of a straight one. Santoni favors a more rustic look, but they have the capability to refine the look if need be. I can understand not liking the rustic/ rugged look, but it is still the "ugly" (in a good way, I think) cousin of goyser, at least in substance... and ESPECIALLY in the concept that the maker wants the world to see his handi-work, rather than merely hiding it away.

Norvegese and Bentivegna are related like brother and sister,
but goyser is ugly coisen from outside immediate family.

Me like the way you think about heavy stitching.

Thanks, friend. Basically, I like what I like. Not really influenced by what the "majority" might see as "beautiful". ALTHOUGH, I ALWAYS keep an open mind and can see the beauty & attractiveness in things I may not want for myself.

It was also my philosophy when I was still dating.

1. for me it's not the way the stitching is done, it's the combination with the exaggerated "frames". btw, dinks are the exception of my goyserer "rule". 2. definitely
