Levis are one item that J Crew really crosses the line on pricing - even compared to their usually high-end prices. But I suppose it comes from the pricing of their J Crew branded jeans; they couldn't really sell the Levis for less than their own brand. And they actually have them in stock, unlike most Levis stores. But I don't think they sell much, either; there was a huge amount of Levis selvedge reported as being on sale last time they have their big in-store sale.

Another option for Levi's Vintage Clothing in SF is Unionmade Goods at 493 Sanchez St: http://www.unionmadegoods.com/Levi_s..._Mens_All.html (not to mention Alden, Quoddy, Chester Wallace tote bags, Filson, Billy Reid, Danner, Gitman Vintage, Farm Tactics ....)

Has anybody seen the bowery pants in the color Raw Steel? Wondering if they are dark/charcoal grey or a navy bluish gray.

My self-imposed exhile from J. Crew is over -- visited this afternoon and thought this "Baird McNutt linen camp shirt in Gunnersby gingham" (that's a mouthful!) looked good: http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/s...5528/25528.jsp
The linen is a good solid weight. On the other hand, it's $80.

The Saint James "Meridien II" shirts look amazing: http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/p...6211/26211.jsp
Rich dark navy, heavy tight knit. One of the only items at Crew that isn't made in China. I'm debating whether to get this one or a trimmer version (the "Ouessant") I saw elsewhere.

I was able to get the Solid Linen for 10$ a couple of months back. Just wait dude, they go in DEEP discount.

Be careful, I own the "large gingham" version and it runs really short in length, I think it has a squared bottom rather than tails like most shirts have.

The factory stuff does not fit like the regular crew stuff. The sizing is **** for the factory stuff. I usually wear a small in most crew items and have had size smalls from the facotry that fit like tents and then some mediums that fit like smalls.

how does the slim fit compare to their regular shirts?

I'm in between a Small and medium, but will wear a small because i like shirts a bit more fitted.
Will a medium slim fit shirt fit me like a small in the body but with longer sleeves and length?

Thanks.

Thanks. The version I saw had tails, although there was something about it that made me think it might be a bit shorter than some shirts. It did look good though. I'd try it before purchasing.
