so one of my white b/d had a stain that i decided to bleach. the stain was really hard to get out after spot cleaning, so i soaked the entire shirt in bleach (mistake) and now the entire shirt has turned to a faint yellow tint.

after repeated washes the entire shirt is still a faint yellow. at least it is uniform. just wondering if there is a way to get it back to full white. the shirt is 95% cotton/5% elastine. i read that bleach can change the color of non cotton fabric so anyway to reverse/fix?

Aren't white shirts actually really really super light blue? Essentially bleach is stripping the dye and returning the shirt to 'natural' which is that yellow color. I learnt this the hard way too

That is exactly right. Most of the brand new white shirt is usually SUPER LIGHT blue.

^ Agreed, and bleaching just burns holes in the fabric. Save the shirt to wear under a sweater or vest.
