I think that trailer is a fake or at least various portions of it. I don't know where they got that footage of Micheal Fassenberger with the special effects, but I recognized quite a few scenes from the previous X-Men films and maybe even a scene from Atonement.

The teaser they showed in the States a month ago (with the guitar track) contains some footage from the first X-Men movie. The movie isn't locked yet, so there isn't enough color-corrected and finished material to compile a full trailer. I'm more than a little concerned about that, as it's usually not a good sign. But it's at least explainable.

Both of you are wrong. The footage from the first film is merely to show what xavier and erik become. Foreshadowing, even though we know what will happen to them.

If you are talking about the one in white...that's January Jones. The one beside her in the skirt is Rose Bryne (sp?)

In what universe does this make sense? To what mythology does this relate? Was there some series of comics in which this all happened in some way more or less the same way this movie appears to set out events? I.e., Magneto and Mystique in the first gen X men with the White Queen, an Xavier with a full head of hair who is inexplicably the same age as Alex Summers? I mean the very makeup of the movie is just jarringly out of step with the Marvel universe as it concerns the X men that I can't even have a nostalgic "back to my youth" level of interest in this.

Looks bad.

Hey, I'm with him on this one. I have no problem changing up costumes to make them realistic but I have been complaining the exact same thing about this movie (I mentioned it several times in this thread iirc) and the whole X-Men franchise actually. In all the X-Men movies, they have changed so many powers (how they gon do Juggernaut like that?) and ruined continuities (Sabretooth had no idea who Wolverine is?).

I know you have. But you harp on me when I ***** in the other threads about continuity and sticking to the comics. Where's the outrage!

In this case, I actually agree so no rage-rant from me. Cyclops is my favorite X-Men character so the franchise not doing him justice really pisses me off. He's been a joke in the entire franchise including Wolverine Origins. Talk more about yellow and blue spandex then we can have a quarrel.
