Please post recommendations for Argyle socks. Favorite brands, where to buy them, etc.

Thanks!

I'm partial to Marcoliani argyle socks. I have three pairs - one in Peacock blue, one in charcoal, one in navy.

If your not near any decent discount places the Target brand Merona (sp?) has some fun colors for $2.50 each. Pretty thin and they probably won't last forever, but hey you can't wear purple or teal socks all the time.

I have a number of cotton ones from Brooks Brothers - bought them on sale for $8-9/pair. They're well-made, easy to put on, and most importantly, the argyle extends down to the top of the foot (unlike my J Crew ones).

+1. BB's are really nice, but pricey. I have a couple of pairs I bought on sale, which is the only way I'll buy them at BB.

+1. They're not bad at all, especially if you're starting out in trying to get a selection going. I have some on right now, and they're just fine.

Ben Silver has outstanding socks! Pricey as all get out, but high quality. I have 5 pair I wear regularly with no loss of color or shrinkage. OTC.

I like Falke at Saks. Its over-the-calf version is longer in height than Marcoliani.
