Maybe I should stick to my easy to read garments, like Ralph Lauren Purple Label.

I once fought for weeks over the pronounciation of Heuer with a friend. He insisted on calling it YEW-ER. It is ******* HOY-ER.

I am 100% sure I am wrong, and 100% sure I am still going to butcher it and call it EYE-zay-AH...ownership has its priviliges.

In my mind, I say things like Her-Mees, but I force myself to pronounce it Air-Mes. I just feel pretentious doing it. Plus, we have a Mardi Gras Krewe called Hermes, and it is most certainly not pronounced Air-Mes down here.

Of course, we have our own unique way of pronouncing **** down here. For example, Caliope street is pronounced Cali-Ope by native New Orleanians. I am not a native, so I refuse to sound like a marsupial.

From what I can remember:

i makes an ee sound, as in "me"
a makes an ah sound
e makes an eh sound (not always)
o makes an oh sound, as in "go" (not always)
u makes an oo sound, as in "zoom"

gi is like a j; ci is like a 'chee'; ch is like a k; gn is like a 'nya'; gli is kind of like 'yee'

Haha, I merely copied it from an article I read! I think the Patek one is wrong too...
