does anyone know just how many different 'made in maine' facilities there are?

i mean, does quoddy have their own and only make quoddy shoes, etc? or is this a case of only a few places that do work for everyone? i saw some redwing moc chukkas in the photos, which kind of surprised me, since i figured they'd do their own stuff.

thats a really good question and one i was hoping to find out in this thread. someone out there has got to be working in the industry. i know quoddy has a place, but i dont know how many other factories exist or even the total number of people (shoe makers) that have the skills to makes these shoes. it would be nice to figure it out though. there are quite a few companies that have at least some potion of their shoes made in maine, like red wing for example. i know rancourt & co. does some of the made in usa shoes by ralph lauren.

I got them in my normal size 10. Actually, I vary between 10 and 10.5, slightly wide foot, so sometimesI get the EE. These fit perfectly and tend to stretch and/or comform to your feet, so the more you wear them the better they get - to a point. I wear them with socks usually and they fit fine and also can fit fine barefoot - very smooth inside leather, BUT wearing them w/o socks on anything but grass or fairly soft roads is not at all comfortable with those leather soles.

bumping this thread to ask:

does anyone know where i can find yuketen anglers in this smooth leather in the usa? after several minutes of intense googling i can only find suede. these are from oi polloi and i'd rather not pay with the pound (plus tariff) to see how they work for me. (especially since i already have a return on the way back to oi polloi and it's a money losing proposition)

thanks.

thanks.

it depends on what retailers ordered that particular style. yuketen only produces what its retailers order, so op may be the only place that has that style.
