I like the top notes of this one (Original Santal) a lot. Unfortunately, though, the scent quickly becomes intolerably sweet to me--almost like Joop! It's one of the very few fragrances that I really do feel the need to scrub off after I apply it. My stomach just can't handle it! The bottle really is gorgeous, though.

FWIW, I don't think of Terre d'Hermes as old-mannish at all. Unless by "old man" you mean someone in his thirties. (I hope not!) Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere for me today. I'm becoming a big fan of this one.

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver sample today.

Different. Haven't really been into vetivers in the past (rarely if ever worn), but there's something fairly unique about it that is holding my interest, even hours after application.

Personally I think it is all in how you carry it. If you are putting out a old man vibe it might be reinforced by TdH. But if you are wearing it with some stylish energy, you are going to smell very sophisticated. Of course, I think TdH is a fantastic scent.

Saturday finished off my sample bottle of Geranium pour Monsieur. I definitely like this scent. Too bad it is so expensive and short lived.

Etro Sandalo today (Rambo inspired). When I first put it on I swear it smelled like ant spray. But it quickly became a very nice sandelwood. I like it.

Longevity isn't bad. You might want to try spraying this very close to the skin (2/3 sprays) and not spraying as a mist. I get about 8 hours.

as it stands now, i only have a tiny sample vial, so all the application is to my neck and directly on the skin with the plastic tip that connects to the vial cap.

i am getting a bottle of it pretty soon though. a lot of people online say that the longevity for xxv is terrible, so im really surprised/jealous that you're getting 8 hours!!

I have a decant and wear it every now and again. Can't knock the tenacity.

Using a decant bottle so the atomizer's different, but i went with about 5 small spritzes...

I think people say OS is one of the Creeds that people who generally don't like creed like, ie it's quite different from most of their scents. I'm not a huge fan of the house (i don't dislike them, they just don't do much for me) but this one's nice. It's a cousin of Joop! but not really comparable IMO. I wish it was a little different though, more like Palisander or something. Nice enough for a decant, not a bottle (shame though, the bottle's pretty!)

Today GIT... I've tried this a few times and will def say there are batch inconsistencies! I just got a split from a new flacon and it's fresh, lasts a while, etc, while an older bottle I bought as a partial from 4-5 years ago was much sweeter and faded after a couple of hours. I hate to say it but if you're going to get this one, get it fresh even if it means paying full retail.

I've been looking for something inexpensive for checked luggage. Yesterday I found a Corduroy by Zirh 4oz spray & deodorant gift set. Tjmaxx clearance 3 dollars.

I was debating buying that one - pretty good scent IMO and cheap but I wasn't sure it was just excellent.

Today - PdN Fraiche something or other. Citrusy skin scent.
