Gorgous shoes but I would wear a darker shade with those pants. Just my thoughts.

You are probably correct. Better pairing for the shoes today?

(difficult to see in crappy office lighting with low quality iPhone pic, but pants are tan, socks are blue)

i bought a color 8 belt. the belt won't always match the exact shade of the shoe, but it doesn't have to be perfect.

if you want to stick with calf, go very dark brown. most burgundy belts don't look right. that said, i found a j&m burgundy and a cole haan burgundy that look close, but the dark brown will do the job and be more versatile. plus, when you buy cigar, they will still match.

They are tan like tan.

They are wool trousers, literally in color "Tan". I mentioned the color simply because the photo makes them look a bit gray-ish, or possibly even puke-ish. Of course puke arguably pairs well with piss-colored shoes; unfortunately my shirt does not resemble a bodily fluid, thus failing to coordinate properly with the rest of the outfit.

Second, also on the left shoe, when I walk there is a strong sound of air movement, almost like a piston. My left foot is slightly shorter. I was told the shoe just has to break in. Thoughts or experiences are appreciated.

Though you guys should know...

After talking to multiple Alden shops about the air noise, the concensus was that either the shank was off or the cordovan was dry. I was also told to wear the shoes a few more times as maybe it was a break-in issue. Finally went back to Sherman Brothers with the shoes. Ken sent them back to Alden after he verified there was no shank issue or other standard problem. Alden will be re-soling the shoes completely. Some problem with air moving in and out of the sole (aka a gap or hole somewhere). 3-4 weeks before I get them back...

^Anxiously awaiting the new Alden drops this weekend.

Short article on Leffot with a choice quote - http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle...ure_shoes.html
When The New York Times wanted to know what brand of shoe the Iraqi journalist Muntader al-Zaidi hurled at former president Bush, they contacted Steven Taffel.

Taffel's response, detailed and witty, was exactly what one would expect from the owner of Leffot, a cult boutique that traffics in made-to-measure shoes from Alfred Sargent, Aubercy, Corthay and Edward Green, among others.

"The shoes couldn't have been very well balanced"”I mean, the journalist did miss the target twice," he told the Times. "Imagine the damage a pair of Alden cordovan brogues would have caused with their double-leather soles, storm welting and approximately five pounds of horsehide, made in the U.Shannon Adducci Now that would've hurt."

Don't get too excited. This time we'll be featuring some old man styles for Spring along with one new Indy.
