Intriguing. Would you describe this as a proper history, or more of a 'how-to' and shopper's guidebook as with your previous publication?

The blurb both online and on the back of the book describe it quite fully. The 'History' titles are at the publisher's insistence, as I have said many times before. You seem to have missed the intended humour in Book I. If that is so, Book II is not for you and I suggest that you read something else!

How about describing it for those of us who have yet to discover your work?

No need to be touchy, Nick. I didn't miss anything and my previous question wasn't a jab, I was just inviting you to tell us more about the new book.

Sorry to come across as 'touchy'. The main thing that I am touchy about is the fact that the publisher (a history publisher) insists on keeping the main titles in line with its speciality; maybe to please its shareholders. They do, though, allow me to have subtitles and blurb which give the contents in detail. The blurbs for History oif Men's Fashion and History of Men's Accessories may be seen on various sites, including amazon but, given that askandy got very upset and touchy with me, over posting a link that he thought robbed him of a few dimes, I will not do so here. Moreover, the second book, owing to a change of editor, cuts out less of the actual history than the first book. However, I do not just go into dressing accessories but also cover a range of subjects including: restauants and clubs; tobacco; casini; hotels; bars, and food and drink. There are also quirky bits and pieces, such as 'how to stop a fight'; how to pass the port, according to various traditions, and gifts for her.

Sounds intriguing.
