Is it awful? Before I joined this forum, I thought it was a low quality Macy's type brand they marked up and then sold on sale 90% off to ignoramuses that think it's some high fashion BS. Is this true? What is the deal?

No, and the tailored items are especially well made (Corneliani).

You're confusing it with Lauren by Ralph Lauren, Polo Jeans, Beverly Hills Polo Club, etc. There are also some made in China/Asia items sold under the Polo brand at Macy's. But Polo is mostly good. Just stay away from big pony stuff, etc.

Well if they are RL Polo then I think most of the time they are good. I have about two or three of those.

And I like them very well.

Polo Ralph Lauren has very good tailored clothing that you won't find at Macy's. The Polo branded casual clothing at Macy's is good, but Macy's does not sell their tailored clothing.

General consensus = Polo RL you pick up in lower end stores and outlets = junk. I have never seen any good RL Polo stuff at Macy's, TJ Maxx, and Outlets for that matter. All garbage much inferior to Ralphs previous employers Brooks Brothers. I am refering to blue label stuff - i.e. when tags either are blue saying Ralph Lauren, or say Polo then Ralph Lauren underneath.

In higher end stores, Polo Ralph Lauren stuff magically gets better - in particular, the suits are as good as anything for the price.

I think it is known by now that the green/silver label with Lauren written on it is not actual Ralph Lauren. I think Club Monaco is more official RL than the green Lauren label.

There is another line that just says Ralph, not sure if it is Polo though. I rarely see it nowadays.

The Ralph line can be found in Dillards. I don't know who owns the brand or makes it, but I'm pretty sure it isn't affiliated with Ralph Lauren. It's on the same level as Lauren.

I think much of there stuff is junk and that which isn't, is over priced. If you can get their higher level clothing at a big discount, it is well worth it, but at full retain, the value isn't there.

RL Polo runs the length of all of the other RL lines. You can find shirts made in Italy and shirts made in China. Same for the other stuff. Where joy comes from within this line is being able to pick out the choice pieces. A hint is the retail prices.

Go forth, son.

IMO a heck of a lot of money just to be showing a pony logo. Mostly way overpriced 'Made in China' stuff. If one can get PRL at 75% discount, it's probably value for money.

The Ralph line is a only at Dillards line made by Ralph Lauren or at least the name is licensed out like Lauren Green Lable.

LOL you need to visit the NYC mansion...

People who think all RL sucks are usually just uncultured hicks from the sticks.
