An 'F' fitting is used by most shoe makers as their standard/normal width fitting. C&J are anomalous in this respect and use 'E' to denote their standard/normal fit, an 'F' fitting C&J is actually their wider fitting shoe.

In light of the above I would guess, generally speaking, if you're an 11.5F in most shoes, you'd also be an 11.5F in C&J; not a 12E. Now if you are an 11.5F in most of your shoes and they leave you some extra width you could consider getting a C&J 'D' fitting which is narrow. But you'll have to consider that some of the C&J lasts, such as 360 & 348/358 do run narrow, so it's not uncommon for folks to drop down a half or even a full size in particular narrow shoes.

Hope that helps.

nobody in their right mind (and nobody in this thread) said a CJ handgrade was superior to a standard EG or a JLP. Its ******* obvious that a $700 MSRP shoe is going to have a hard time beating a $1300 MSRP one. Why the **** do you keep harping on this?

talk about peasants, thefuccareyou sifting through outlets for sun-damaged display-model EGs for? Probably walking around in $200 mismatched-sized RLPL slippers staring in the mirror. fuccoutahere noob.

Nice shoe collections guys! I'm planning on ordering a couple of pairs of C&J's in the 348 last soon. For those of you with 348 C&J's; should I just go with the corresponding size indicated by the UK to US size conversion charts?

I'm an 8 1/2 D US by the way. Pediwear or Plal?

+1. I've been very impressed by C&J. I think its the sweet spot between quality and price.

Until recently, we were getting C&J handgrades for about $430.That's when most of the shoes in this thread were bought. Nobody said they were on par with EGs and JLPs, just a very nice shoe at a better price point.
