^^ that Wallace --> Portland trade makes no sense; I do not understand why it exists.

I have to imagine Prokhorov sitting in a huge chair petting a Siberian Tiger just continuously saying the Russian version of "MUAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA!"

There is still a cap and I would bet dollars to donuts that the owners will try to take control back from the prima dona wannabe super stars.

The Jazz just sort of did. D.Will wanted to dictate where he would go but they just said **** you, we can and will trade you to ******* NJ, like it or not. I would bet that under the new CBA players will have a little less controll and ability to hold teams ransom.

I never said it would have been a done deal, I said I would have waitedinstead. Ok, Melo doesn't sign next year, try and get CP3 and Dwight, CP3 doesn't sign then go for DWill, etc... There are some options there and much better at that. These teams wants to stop players from controlling them? This isn't a good start, forcing them to clean up their starting 5 for 1 guy.

Seriously now, out of all that was traded, Chandler was the only one who was most likely leaving. If Melo signs with them, good, it worked out for their benefit and paying him less. Is he doesn't sign, look at the above scenario and they still have some talent in tact and would make their team deeper.

Again, that is just how I would have played it. Melo wants to be in NY, I'd wait if I owned the Knicks. If it doesn't happen, I could live with it, I'd get someone else. The current team isn't blowing anyone away this season but it is a huge improvement for the past what, 10 years? I can wait another half a season to see who I could get instead of getting robbed.

Teams can't control players when they are Free Agents unless a franchise tag passes on the new CBA. Yeah, it's not as simple as that but do you think this team will win this season? Melo and Amare will eat up most of the salary cap, if they had signed Melo next year then they might have more control over him. If Melo signs an extension, they will be left with very little money to add to the team. Amare can't take a pay cut anymore, Melo can but will he? CP3 almost guarrantees he'd go to NYK if the cap allows it, that one is for sure. He even said it on his toast during Melos wedding. Now that they might have to give Melo max cap, they have less of a chance getting CP3.

For some reason we're talking past each other. I agree with what you say here and I think waiting or offering up a **** platter would have been the proper way for the Knicks to play it.
I guess everyone else thought so do until Dolan and Thomas got involved. As I said, failure starts at the top.

Wow so you guys have that much faith in the new nuggets lineup?! I kind of screwed up the point I was trying to make by referencing Lebron - let me try again.

I think that Nuggets lineup sucks ass. Not a go to guy in the lineup. No one that can create his shot. Nene is a nice player but I wouldn't say he's better than Antawn Jamison. I don't have the faith in Chandler, Felton and Gallo that you guys seem to. Especially Felton. But I'm open to being proved wrong. The only player that excites me in that lineup is Ty Lawson though.

That is a nice trade for the Nets, though. Everyone said Deron was the best PG in the league last year, and probably would say so again this year if Derrick Rose hadnt blown up. So huge upgrade From Harris, they kept Brook Lopez....for the price of draft picks and Derrick Favors?!

I don't think the Nuggets line-up sucks. Not great, but not terrible. The mere fact that they got players, picks, $ for 'Melo when they would have received nothing is to their credit. Yeah, they're rebuilding, but lets see where the Knicks are in a couple of years....

As far as the Nets are concerned, that trade is good for them only if DWill and Brook re-sign with them, definitely not a sure thing.

here's a pretty good feed: http://www.directon.tv/channels/6087/

seriously though the knick fans are going crazy **** every time melo gets a touch...

But... melo has had a couple of his patented "gets the ball, holds the ball for 3 seconds, decides to to make a move, everyone watches and stands idle, and he shoots a fallaway miss" to the fans uneasy chagrin.

you can hear them kinda cheer/groan after realizing that will be their offense for the rest of the season.

Very true! 'melo is what, 5-14?
The fans are going all giggly indeed. It's pretty silly, and Milwaukee is hanging in there.

Thanks for the feed. I was watching it on channelsurfing, but they kept switching to a spanish-language station.

EDIT: This feed too. Must come from the same source. I thought they had actually swirched channels, but I guess the provider is the same.

Wow, Legends Night. I used to love Clyde and The Pearl. Hated John Starks.

Great comeback by the Lakers and I just love it when Kobe dominates at the end. Artest was the hero of the night though, it seemed like both teams weren't missing from behind the arc. Great game but an even better win especially with OKC losing.
