Caught the pilot last night. Writer is the guy that gave us The Shield, hottie Jennifer Beals and that dood from Brotherhood (who looks like Chandler Bing if he were big and scary) and none other than Delroy Lindo as the black guy...er, bad guy.

I liked the pilot and thought it had possibilities in character development.

Is it filmed in Chicago? I've wondered that since I caught the first commercial

It is.

I had the pilot on the other night in the background and it seemed interesting, so I'll probably watch it again more intently later in the week.

What got me during the first episode was how Antonio's voiceover cut off when he got shot. That, to me, was something special.

Oh and Jennifer Beals

Decent show, but I find the quick character bios with voice-over annoying.

I think there are some pretty cool ways to use them as narrative, like in the pilot.

Jennifer Beals, so righteous

Always wearing a concealable vest over street clothes looks silly. I am not sure I can stomach a network show...is it actually worth checking out?

Delroy Lindo is awesome (of course, developing 'evil' characters is always inherently easier and more interesting than is the case with good characters.) To that point, Jennifer seems to be getting bad/stilted dialogue that she's delivering in a bad/stilted way (imho), though she's still smokin'. And it will be interesting to follow the undercover kid's character development arc if, as seemed to be the case last night, he was actually responsible for someone's death in the house fire he set (due to pressure from his superiors) to get in tight with the Irish mob. For me, at least, the verdict is still out on whether this show is a keeper.

Real shame. I've enjoyed the series so far.
