Which brand do you find the most annoying?

^don't own one but i think they are undeniably classic/ versatile. hublot annoys me more.

Audi - The costly unreliability of a German car. They market the cars as luxury, but make even the most basic accessories options. Also, the dealership experience is wretched. Worst of all, my wife really wants one.

Audi is German. I think he was referring to the reliability of such cars as Alfa Romeo etc.

Lacoste - terribly overpriced (like 150USD for sneakers or a polo) in my country. ****** quality in all garments I owned (for example - artificial leather used in driving sneakers, so my feet were sweating like they were in sauna; - bomber with a hideaway hood that soaked under the slightest rain).

Boss - ****** quality, personal experience here again.

Zilli, Hermes - they charging at least twice what their real prices should be.

LV - all these checked logos make me vomit.

Prada - what is with all the plastic ****? makes you look like you are in a graffiti garbage bag. Not that these plastic clothes are technical or breathable.

HM, Zara, UCB, Uniqlo, Superdry, Gap - very, very low quality.

Jack Willies - cost twice what they should be for made in china cottons and faux furs on the collars, some of their stuff is well-made, though.

Viviene Westwood - this old woman can not understand that it is a 21 century now and her stuff is aesthetically disgusting.

Levis, Gant, AF, TH - the same mediocre quality made in china cotton stuff with different logos.

Numerous made up turkish, russian and chinese brands that try (successfully with people who dont know much about clothes) pass as italian or american - US Polo Association, TJ collection for example.

Ed Hardy - WTF, seriously?

I can't hate on any brand for the way their clothing looks, since it's not like they're pulling a fast one on me. But I'm annoyed with Brooks Brothers, for their ridiculous delays for on-line purchases. I ordered a tie from them and after four months of delays, canceled it. A month later, it showed up! I understand others have had the same problem.

Aldo, Diesel, mall brands (AE, Gap, Banana Republic), Ed Hardy, etc are all obvious and rightfully acceptable answers.

I was hoping for more good submissions like Gant by Michael Bastian as I think that actually inspires a good conversation (a respectable masculine designer boing an Americana brand but it ultimately fails due to its over-the-topness). Tom Ford as well, since much of his stuff is very timeless and fasionable in my opinion (footwear, ties, pocketsquares, etc), however expensive. His suits are very annoying to me however with those bigass lapels.

I can see some peoples point regarding branding based clothing, but i think there is a huge difference in some small-logo based lines (Lacoste, Penguin, Polo, Fred Perry) vs. Ed Hardy, Armani Exchange, etc. Obviously, having everypiece of your clothing, every day with a logo on it is too much.

The few posts that had Alden, Red Wing and Gant in here are mindnumbing. I really do not how any of these brands can be considered "annoying". Answers like this smack with trying too hard in my opinion, especially when no real reason is really given.

Red Wings are just great quality boots. I've had my pair for fifteen years, they still look great, and I've never had to resole them. I was a little surprised to come here and see their newer, more sneakery-looking stuff had taken off with the early twenties crowd, the kind who likes to overpay for what was once considered workwear. But maybe that's where the annoying comes in: commodification of the 'authentic' is always a little icky.

But does this make their product or even the brand annoying? It is not their fault that their product has become trendy. Hell, does trendy even equal annoying? I don't know, there are so many other, better targets here is all.

the eurotrash flashion houses: LV, A|X, gucci, D&G, D2 (although I think they might be canadian)
and the we make crappy jeans but embroider a lot on the rear pockets brigade: true religion, antiq, & 7

honorable mentions for north face and bose, both companies make products that the masses think are enthusiast oriented or at least enthusiast trickle down, when in reality they are overpriced mass market garbage hidden by good marketing

There is a great story behind the Lacoste design and myth...

Rene Lacoste did create the polo Lacoste at the time most players were still wearing a shirt or other uncomfortable garments.

The idea was a stroke of genius...

There are numerous explanations of why Lacoste was originally nicknamed the Crocodile. A 2006 New York Times obituary about Lacoste's son, Bernard, provides an apparently authoritative one. In the 1920s, supposedly, Lacoste made a bet with his team captain about whether he would win a certain match. The stakes were a suitcase he had seen in a Boston store; it was made of crocodile (or alligator) skin. Later, Renà Lacoste's friend Robert George embroidered a crocodile onto a blazer that Lacoste wore for his matches.

For the pricepoint, I don't see the low quality you're talking about here. I go to the Gap for 8 buck t-shirts. Uniqlo consistently has very wearable pieces at those prices. H&M and Zara (barring some of Zara's terrible design decisions I mentioned before) have their functions too. You can't just write off everything affordable as being unwearably low quality unless you're Scrooge McDuck.

That's part of the distortion field that allows people to buy Thom Browne and Balmain at full retail price (and pay tax on top of that). Leave them to it, it's a hopeless cause.

They are not particularly abhorrent, but I am bothered by finance guys' fixation with Ferragamo loafers. My former roommate brags about the "banker slippers" he bought at full price at Nordstrom's, which have the clunkiest military rubber soles which would be more apt for a construction site. Worse offenders still are the belts with the Ferragamo horse bit as a buckle. Conspicuous consumption to the max.

In all fairness, I had inherited a pair several years back, and when worn to a club once a girl began to talk to me because of them; they signalled money and power! They were subsequently sold on this forum.
