Meh, I could do with less groupthink around here...
Yeah, I'm just saying it's hard to be objective about these things. When I was in college, square-toe shoes were in; everyone from the high-end designers to Rockport to Banana Republic were making them, and Kenneth Cole, with his square-y-est of square toes, paid for a lot of advertising in magazines like GQ and Esquire. And bizarrely, GQ and Esquire told you they were hip, and people bought them, and people lauded their quality and construction on the interwebs.
