I think you should simply brush them after wearing. That way it remains original than to polish it, it might destroy it somehow.

Thanks but, I'll be honest, even after reading that thread I don't think I could tell the difference in a finished suit if it was handed to me. Any advice?

The simple short cut is to pick brands that make quality suits.

There are actually people who wear shoe sizes above a 2 and below an 8.

Yes you are so right about that.

The point is that most of the time they (designers) think that every has the body of their ******* models.

Hell no, there just don't care about us or just don't get it.

I am not an expert at spotting fit errors from photographs, but it looks to me that you need to have the seat let out on the pants, and that's it. Apart from that, it looks good.

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to all this stuff and I was advised by SW&D to ask here. I bought these AEs off of ebay and I'm trying to figure out which model this is: Link Also since this is my first pair of leather shoes worth taking care of, I had a question. On the AE website their shoe polish does not come in burgundy. I did some searching and read contradicting advice on using brown polish on burgundy shoes. I also read that black polish can make them look good. Any ideas what I should get? Thanks a lot.

Just get a cordovan/burgundy shoe polish from Kiwi or another brand. It doesn't have to be AE polish.

The pinch test will tell you whether the jacket is canvassed or not.

This is not bad advice. Fabric quality and other aspects of construction quality are things that you really have to experience to recognize. If you don't have the experience, it's not a bad idea to look for labels that are known to produce quality goods.

Yes! I have both colours. I found that the cordovan polish is almost black so will keep your shade dark. I recently switched to kiwi oxblood as I'm hoping that might bring up a more reddish hue. Number 8 cordovan is a colour much loved by SF but in some pics it looks almost black and I'm going for a lighter shade.

Have no experience with this kind of shoes, should i polish the shoes with shoes polish? wax? Or simply brush them after wearing?

There is specific wax products for waxed leather. Or Mink Oil will work. I have used both with good results. As for brushing them...maybe a soft brush would be ok, but anything too rough will show up on the surface of the shoes.
