Trying to pick between 3 different BB shirts

Hello, I'm looking for some button-down collar shirts and BB is a popular choice from what I read. After browsing their site, they seem to have 3 different fabrics for solid colors in their extra slim line. Can someone describe the practical differences between the 3 and recommend one? I will be wearing a jacket with it maybe 50% of the time and probably will not be wearing an undershirt. Thanks.

#1: Described as "end-on-end broadcloth"

#2
: Described as "pinpoint cotton"

#3: Described as "Supima cotton oxford dress shirt"

Number 3 is the one to buy. It is BB's true classic dress shirt. The others are imports and the cloth and quality of construction are inferior, IMHO.

coolshoes' answer is canonical. Accept no other.

I would just throw out there that I recently ordered several BB ESF shirts in different fabrics. While the Supima ones are assembled in the USA, the cloth is imported, so there shouldn't be any real difference in the quality of the cloth.

To add to that, I found that the quality of the manufacture of the shirts assembled in the US was actually inferior in a lot of ways to the ones assembled overseas, with more loose threads and uneven stitching on the US shirts. YMMV.

I think all of them are good values, and I like the Supima shirts a lot, but it really depends what you are looking for. The broadcloth shirts are certainly a little dressier than the oxfords.

I did and didn't. The manager of the store is a "company man" -- she really doesn't know **** about clothes. I walked in wearing a BB 3/2 sack, a BB #1 repp tie, an OCBD, and a pair of BB penny loafers, and she asked me if I knew anything about Brooks Brothers or its history. However, the employees all chimed in on my behalf, and I have been assured that I have a job... as soon as someone quits or is fired. :p

#3 all the way. I've had experience with all those options, and the last option is by far the most quintessential BB and doesn't seem to have dropped in quality as has most of their other offerings.

If you have seen the blue tie on eBay threak, the sheer power of SF in numbers is frightening. If you need someone fired, start a thread and we got yer back.
