Got hold of several meters of fabric from a mill in Huddersfield which is labeled (on the selvage) as "super 120's wool vicuna and mink cashmere flannel". From that alone, is there anything can be said about quality?

Definitely not a barleycorn - it's a simple hopsack weave.

I have 4 meters of some heavy english tweed I got from tailors granddaughter:

and some Minis Flannel in Dark Brown Glenn Check (~ 2 yards) that I bought from Slewfoot...but found something else instead...will post those pics (or David, if you have the files handy could you post?)

I usually don't like patterned ties that much but these are exceptionally lovely. Have seen similar ones at E.G. Cappelli and will definitely check out his stock next time I am down in Napoli...

I saw a guy wearing one of them in a London bar...

Great cloth but I wouldn't go for the super shaped look as in the photo - it doesn't really work in the city or the country. Go less structured - the stuff would be great with jeans and a white shirt.
