Cool furniture, design objects and desiderata

In that case I'll leave the rail. The painting she's thinking of is pretty big, I think it's roughly 4' by 6'. One of my good friends had a mid-modern couch made up by a local guy in Brooklyn for about $3500 and I found it to be awesome.

One of the issues with the aforementioned couch is that it takes up so much space which is already at a premium. Since I think that good planning allows for you to walk about without feeling confined it's important to find something that takes up less space.

I spent a great deal of time placing everything in a way that allowed multiple people to arrange themselves comfortably without feeling like anything was in the way, a smaller couch would go a long way toward further improving that.

The Bantam Gold in 73" would be perfect. A knoll is nice as well, but IMO, extremely overpriced.

crap, I just re-read my post, that was after a little bit of wine and cocktail carnage last night. My bad. More eloquence will be used next time.

switch to white or just off white for the walls, the orange/yellow is tacky. If you're going to have a big painting, the colors of the wall + white trim could make it seem a little crowded and I gather that is not the intention.

Smaller couch is good, I think ours is only 70-something inches with a mÃ

ridienne in the opposite corner.

Another good source for mid century is Soho Concepts. They are in NJ. They sell knockoffs but they are pretty well made.

No worries, no offense taken. It is partially the photography (thank you Iphone) but the 'orange' is actually light brown. It looks ok, but would work better with a light cream instead of the yellow. Exactly, trying to make it look welcoming not crowded, typically one or two people would sit upright on that couch, so no reason to have something that is bigger than 73". Fred, I take it that you do this stuff for a living?

I like a nice aerated flow with good pressure from my kitchen faucet...it really cuts down on splashback and cleans food off stuff well, but the flow is pretty low and it can take a while to fill a big pot. If I unscrew the aerator, I get a ton more flow (although it spashes a lot more and makes a mess when cleaning large cutting boards and stuff that doesn't fit deep into the sink).

Pot fillers tend to have a lot of flow so you can fill those big stock pots nice and fast (and add water at will)

Good lord Fred. You'd need to buy GE stock to get enough Reveal bulbs to be able to light all that white. This looks like a Martha Stewart set piece. Except for the medieval chest to the right. That's just ******* odd looking.

I agree. The lamps aren't that bad, per se, but they don't really go with the vibe. You need some halogen spotlights to really make it pop!

I agree. The lamps aren't that bad, per se, but they don't really go with the vibe. You need some halogen spotlights to really make it pop!

That's a bit outside of my expertise. I don't really have a thought out plan. I usually just use whatever one is inside my apartment and they involve basic stoves and cabinets. Seriously though, the 2nd and 3rd look really uncomfortable. The first one, outside of the whitewash and medieval furniture, looks pretty decent.

They are studio kitchens..not ment to be taken as residential use kitchens. They show product uses and design possibilities. I was hoping that you could show me a photo of a kitchen you thought looked great ....not your own kitchen.

You didn't like what you saw and I wanted to see what you think is wonderful.
