This is probably beyond off topic, but I have no idea where to go for women's shoe advice...

I'd like to find my wife a nice pair of knee high black leather boots for a present since she's used to buying the sub $100 pairs that wear out in 8-12 months. Does anyone know of some reasonably fashionable brands that use quality construction and could be re-soled?

I'm thinking $300 is about my upper limit on these.

Why is that? Have we offended those ladies somehow? Perhaps pointing out that their shoes are not goodyear welted

OP Fry has probably best quality ladies boots, try Zappos.

I recently started a thread that had a very similar response. Search for it. It is all laughs.

Congratulations on reviving a thread that had been inactive for nearly thirteen years.
