... Anyone a fan?

I realise that Florsheim are not so welcome any more since they shipped their manufacturing offshore (India?) and the commensurate quality drop. DBs seem to be traditional styles (Oxford, longing, bucks) but in some pretty outrageous colours.

Anyone taken the plunge? Any feedback on quality? Some of the colours look great but probably extremely limited in real life.

i think Wooster rocked a yellow one at Pitti. I assumed there would be significant interest in them, post that shot.

I saw the yellow longwings up close and personal at Nordstrom Rack. I was very disappointed.

Hmmm ... In what way crap quality? Plasticky corrected grain? Dodgy looking stitching? Wafer thin?

It really is sad how far Florsheims seem to have fallen.

In a blobby shaped, crap leather, cheapest possible construction, would not pay $20 for them kind of way.

I can see all sorts of flaws in the leather just on the pics on Zappos. I can imagine they look even worse in person.

I've seen them in person at Norstrom Rack, bright yellow, and can confirm that they are crap. The leather looks bad and they feel very light for what they are. A quality longwing will have a certain amount of heft to them. These don't feel substantial at all.
