I was at a local consignment shop browsing around, and came across a Burberry shirt. It has the classic pattern in blue and gray and I quite like it, and I thought I would get it until I see the tag. It says it's made in Tunisia. I also take a look at the material tag, and it's 100% cotton in English on one side, but Chinese words on the other. I wasn't sure if it was a fake or not so I just left it. I'm curious if this is a fake or if it's a shirt for the Chinese market.

If it's "****" it's fake no matter where it's made.

a question you should also be asking is, ignoring the label, what do you actually think of the shirt? looking at the maker, where it's made, what it's made from, etc are all just you being uneducated enough to pick it up, put it on, and decide if you want it and will pay the asking price. Who cares if it's a "fake' Burberry, it's still a REAL shirt. If you're paying Burberry prices because the label indicates a certain quality level and it's a fake so the quality control is missing, then you're probably overpaying. but at some point you have to just ignore the label and decide if you like it anyway.

I'd change it to: Don't buy any clothing, never ever. Get your grandma or mom to grab their knitting needles or sowing machines and make you garments in the manner of the "old ways".

To the OP, a shirt is a shirt. If it functions well enough, I dont think I would care if it were a fake or original item.

In regards to authenticity, the made in Tunisia should not throw you off. Chance being a fine thing, I would say with 90% certainty it is original Burberry. That 10% uncertainty should not throw you off, after all, when you buy clothing, there is a small gamble involved.

Do you know anything about who runs the counterfeit trade? Clearly not, if you did, you would not condone it.

Ridiculous comment. Saying something like that shows you're obviously intimidated by the opinions of most SF'ers and you're mocking us.

You're right, a shirt is a shirt, whether it's real or fake. As long as I like it then it shouldn't matter whether it's Burberry or Blueberry, provided of course the asking price is reasonable and worth the quality. Thanks.
