I think the point is that many these guys look like they are playing "dress up" and therefore they look affected. Putting on an outfit and getting dressed are two different things to me.Originally Posted by whnay.

isn't that assuming that people in fashion are normal? i'm not in fashion but i am in food and i'll bet if i told you the amount of time i spending wondering what i'm going to cook/eat, you would be utterly dismayed. we all have our obsessions.

Many of us complicate that. We don't have just one solid navy tie - we have a small threads knitted version, a chunky knit, a herringbone, a silk, etc.
Whnay, are you taking into account the time you spent deliberating what to get made up, the exact fabrics/cut, trips to tailors? The time spent on SF and other sites, looking at books and magazines, getting an idea of what works for you and what doesn't? The education and making-up was ultimately a part of the dressing process leading to what is probably a fairly cohesive business-friendly wardrobe in which you feel choices come easily.
