Who "in the industry" would you exclude, such that you would take them seriously? At the very least, forum favorites yfyf, chorse123, and kentwang. Or are they not in the industry?

What about LabelKing? He's not in the industry as far as working-for-the-man goes, but he is known to party with with Miss Prada. He's serious as a heart attack.

If Luca is included, is his father as well? What about Luciano Barbera? Tom Ford? etc.

I'm interested to see your include/exclude lists.

I love the fact that so many of these pics take place in a magical land where it's cool enough to facilitate the wearing of seven layers, but not cold enough to require buttoning one's topcoat.

The designers belong to a flamboyant, creative industry... in their way, advertizing and marketing among others can and do have the same approach to dress. Just because they don't work in boring/conservative/banker land doesn't make their style illegitimate.

I think the point is that many these guys look like they are playing "dress up" and therefore they look affected. Putting on an outfit and getting dressed are two different things to me.

That one reminds me, spot the Savile Row legend.

I don't hold too much against him - my own efforts at live-action shots ended with me looking like a dwarf with generous child-bearing hips. With that bulk, might have gone for a different DB design though.
