I'm 5'10" with a regular build, but I have short arms and legs. My suit size is a 42R but the jacket looks too long for my frame. It makes me appear shorter than I am.

I tried on and purchased a 42S suit because the jacket makes me look taller and overall just makes the suit look better.

Does anybody else do this? Or is the jacket too short for me? The bottom of the jacket is pretty much even with my knuckles when I have my hands at my sides. On the back, the jacket ends pretty close to where my butt does, but it definitely does not extend past it.

It depends on your build, your leg length and your torso length. I am an shorter than you, but the consenus has been that due to my build, the longer coat favors me better than a short one.

If you have short legs for your height that means you have a long torso. That likely means you need a longer jacket to cover your torso.

So either you don't have short legs or your jacket is going to end up short. Too short is for you to decide.

Covers butt? Long enough.

Does not cover butt? Not long enough.

I'm 5'9" and I do this too. Not that a 37 is easy to come by in either length.
