I tried the nag champa and it was very calming, is there some cloves in there or something? My bedroom gone all spicy smelling.

Which nag champa did you try? Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa is the best. I also am very partial to Shivranjani made by Baykeri. If you live in India, I'm sure it's available. I had some really old stock that was amazing. The newer stuff smells good, but the old stuff was my favorite ever. If you like Dhoop Sticks, Hari Darshan Aloukik Dhoop Sticks is pretty good a quite readily available in the states. Edit: I googled the Shivranjani and found a link selling 40gms for $6.79! Wow... I bought 20gms for Rs. 15 in India.

Yes that's the one. I live in the Netherlands and they're available for about 1.50 euro a packet.
I never burned dhoop sticks but I want to try a complex durbar masala. Not too heavy.

I don't know. I have smelled incenses in the past as a kid in some places, that were rather intoxicating. I don't think I like the floral kind.

Sweet, vetiver, and exotic scents have my attention.
I know I could try Japanese Baiedo etc. But having smelled those I don't think I like their varieties even though they use all natural products of a very high quality.

Baieido make some beautiful incense out of aloeswood, but that is a whole other forum! I currently have a Thai style electric incense burner on which I can gently heat various mixes. Not as visibly 'smoky' as burning stick incense. Gives a wonderfully subtle perfume.

It covers weed smells...sometimes smells a bit like weed.... will make your clothes smell of it as it clings to every piece of fabric it wafts by.....

I have some items boxed from years ago when i burned it a lot and when i go in those boxes i can still smell it!!

Some people like it and others find it a musty type smell....

i think burning a little now and again with the windows open would be a good compromise otherwise you'll find it reaking your apartment out and your clothes.

I generally dislike the Indian ones, but sometimes you can find nice cedar or pine ones, which are probably my favorite.

If your not used to Indian incense indeed it can be somewhat overwhelming, I agree.

I like jappanese since they are usually very light. My mother used Charcoal a lot and I enjoyed that.

On a related note, I really want to make people more aware of Papier D'armenie. They are burning papers that come in small booklets. This is what I use of I know guests will be over since the scent it fills the room with is very agreeable with many different tastes, and it's also not offensive to sensitive eyes or noses. Since it's paper it burns very quickly, but it leaves the room with a very pleasant powdery scent. I'll burn some a few hrs before someone comes over, or before I leave for work if I know I'll want to relax after I return home.

out here we have an "incense" called "Spice" which is a synthetic THC alternative that actually gets you high. it was legal for some time but then it became a felony to possess, although you can still buy it at certain newstands. It comes in numerous "flavors" and smells like tea leaves but damn, it really gets you ripped. gives incense a whole new meaning
