Those light brown laces on your LS x SF are spectacular. Did they come with the pair?

Anyone else happen to grab a pair of the burnished tan wingtip boots from J. Gilbert? The leather my pair is made out of is really odd. It's rough and has almost a brittle texture. They don't want to take a shine either. My other burnished tan pairs of Aldens are smooth and supple. Should I be concerned/peeved by this or just accept the fact that my pair came from a worn out old cow?

Very comfortable. Pretty fast "break in". Not as comfortable as crepe, obviously, but seemingly faster "break in" and maybe a slightly better comfort level than true double oak soles.
