I think they are more formal but the bigger issue is that it adds texture #3 to your outfit with the small texture of the grenadine tie (a detailed, smallish repeating pattern) against a similarly smallish repeating pattern of the shirt. The jacket provides a texture contrast to your detailed tie and plain shirt in that flannel is just fuzz. I would probably not wear the herringbone shirt with the grenadine tie or if I did I would do it with a traditional wool jacket.Originally Posted by deanayer
