Watch movies she has little or no interest in... Or that might scar her emotionally.

Have a few more drinks than I would normally.

Blast music and wander aimlessly on the internet.

Go to a skatepark.

Stay up way too late and wake up really early.

Eat nothing but omelets, sandwiches, and pizza.

Maybe take a day to peruse as many thrift stores as possible.

Go to a hardcore or punk show and drop by the bar afterwards.

Start missing her a few hours after she leaves.

EDIT: ... oh yeah, and masturbate.

I'm very happy some people find this, but I don't ever want to be so close to anyone. Again.

But seriously, you should probably get over that.

I tried but reality is often far different than my fantasy. Some things live with you...it is the way it is

Not sure what made me post that initially, but I live with this dilemma and it's awful. To a person who is as relationship oriented as I am being unable to really let myself delve into one is torture. Especially now since I'm being heavily pursued by someone I've been "seeing" for a while. I recently had the "I think we should stop..." conversation. But anyway. That's all for a different thread.

When I WAS in a relationship I mostly listened to my music without headphones and had the TV far too loud when I was alone. Most other things were the same.

Your guess would be only slightly worse than mine...I've been considering for a couple of months that I should write a letter or something but haven't been able to express myself nor to I believe I would ever get a real answer.

It's been about 1.5yrs since and I'm over being distraught about it but the emotional damage just might be permanent. I'm a pretty easy going fellow and people would never guess I went through something so traumatic unless we begin discussing why I'm not in a relationship. Then people are all-

That's cold. My heart goes out to you, for real. No one should have that type of **** happen to them. ***** even took your dog!

When she's away:

I turn up the TV (I'm slightly hard of hearing, so it's great to watch it at MY level without annoying her)

I do all the messy/inconvenient projects around the house, things that require demolition or turning off the water

I always get a LOT of cleaning/DIY stuff done

I cook less (not that much fun cooking for one) and eat cheaply.

I try to take the time to do all the stuff that I'm too busy/distracted to get done when she's here, partly so that I get a head start, but also so that she comes home to a neater house, remodeled bedroom, or organized finances.

Mostly I do whatever I can to take my mind off missing her, though.
