screw items YOU only buy once.... my interest is items my FAMILY has only had to buy once.

I have lots of high quality items I inherited that will outlast me:
garage wet/dry vacs (mines over 50y/o)
toasters (if its chrome, it should last forever, also +50)

This one was first built in 1631 by Robert Dallam. Naturally it's been refurbished over the years, but it still looks a damn sight nicer than almost anything else that year!

I'm friends with a couple of fellows on the international recital circuit. I'll ask if they've played it.

Haha true. what I had in mind was it never getting outdated. faster versions with more options may exist or be created in the future, but I will stay faithful to my ti-83+. The familiarity of X1 outweighs the performance gain in switching from X1 to X2, so you buy X only once. doesn't work if I lose or break it

We have them from tiny to very large. My professional chef (well cook) uses them.

even though it feels inappropriate.
