I am a fan of oatmeal actually, is it the pattern or styling that you don't like more perhaps, jet or is it just the color? I dig it. I sure hope smalls are coming in and haven't sold out, then again I'm hoping if that's the case that they are delayed since I am awaiting a gorgeous hand knit that hopefully fits this time (unlike that damn Schneider!), but if doesn't I have my eye out.

What I can say, you're my mellowfellow knit competitor. At least post some pics! I figured that's why you listed the NDG.

It will fit you so much better than it did me.

I am 0-for-1 on knits so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the other two (Universal Works and Inis Meain)

Haha good for you, man. Yeah 09 version is grail status, if you ever decide to sell that you best contact me first so I can own both colorways.

Sizing the knits is a pain in the beginning isn't it? Once you get them down though, there's no turning back!

True! Part of the problem is that it's so hard to measure them, and even then two different knits of the same dimensions can fit totally differently. At least with the other two, they still have a L for the time being

Exactly right. The thickness of the knit and cabling patterns (if applicable) can also influence the measurements. I think I seem to be a 38 in knits from knit countries like Scotland and Ireland, etc. They size like you said according to chest essentially so I seem to be a 38 so a 40 I would definitely think is your size for the Inis and I'm guessing Universal Works too though I haven't handled those personally. It does look like you could have stretched the 38, but I think those types of knits are even better a bit on the oversized side to avoid the shrunken effect.

Well, I ordered a S in the UW and M in IM. The IM is mostly merino, which tends to stretch easily. And, robin (who is usually a size larger than me) says he's a M in the UW. Plus, they are both tnecks, so it's not like I'll be wearing a OCBD under them. The wait is killing me.

That Inverallan was like knit armor.

Has anyone ordered from Roslyn?

http://aranknitwear.tayads.com/cardigan.html

After Inverallan stopped doing made-to-measure, I think she's one of the only ones still left doing that. Prices seem to be a bit higher than Inverallan used to be, but much cheaper than Invs on Mandonstore or other alternatives.

As with Inverallan, those pictures are just horrible, but I imagine if sized properly the knits themselves would be of equal quality.

I have a red Inverallan knit cap from Inventory that's too small for my beastly noggin. Let me know if anyone wants it...
