Do you mean narrower? A size 10 barrie is a smaller version of a size 10.5 barrie...Well, shorter I guess, do the widths also scale down with smaller sizes? A size 7D is narrower than a size 10D isn't it?

HELP - Alden Shop, NYC?

I will be in Midtown for a couple of days and will have at most two hours to run over to the Alden Shop in NYC - New Yorkers, what can I expect? Do they have a lot of special make ups? I can get standard shoes from my local shop, so I'm looking to shoot in there and grab something unique - what are my odds of finding something interesting?

Thank you in advance.

sorry Chris your not gonna find anything interesting the midtown Alden shop, its a strictly standard shop so you should take Dexters advice and head to west village for Leffot

I'd love to, but logistically I don't think I can make it happen - a Monday morning cab ride downtown and back will not fit the schedule, whereas the Alden Shop is a five or six block walk between meetings.

10D Barrie = 10.5D Leydon. Fit should be similar.

Tried the usual options for the navy suede PTB 9D and no luck. They have some in stock at Alden Madison Ave but not in my size. Again, if someone knows where I can get a pair I would appreciate you letting me know.

orvis is a flyfishing shop that carries Alden, they are right near eachother, its easy to see how you could visit both.

chris, if you can;t make it to leffot, you should try to get over to moulded shoe, in addition to alden and orvis
