okay...now as far as this (1108) being a '66 cut...how accurate is that? Are these essentially a 1966 501 repro?

1101XX is more of an accurate 1966 cut (closer denim, paper patch, no rivets etc.) but the 1108 is a slimmer 1966 based cut...

I think you refer to the 1993 reissue of the 1101XX. The standard 1101XX have hidden rivets and a leather patch. IMO the cut is a bit fuller than a '66 should look like

1108 is unsanforized, so shrinkage is pretty substantial. They stretch back in waist...when I got mine they warned of 2-2.5" shrink lenthwise though.

it does seem the 1108 would indeed shrink a tad more although i dont have a pair of the 1101s so i cannot confirm. i would call big and ask them to confirm. according to the big chart which is usually pretty accurate you might want to go down an additional size from the 1108 for a slimmer fit. btw ... i love the 1108s! i havent taken them off the past couple of days.

damn, never even thought about this, but I pretty much never use front pockets on my denim...way too snug for comfort

update on fc-1108's. these have finally started to settle and take form. they have stretched out about 2" in the waist (i got them to shrink down to 32" in the waist and they currently measure 34'). ideally, i want these to give about another 1/2" in the waist and they will be perfect! i will give another update in the next coupe of months when i get some real wear on these.

bf: if you get a pair of the 1108's i would recommend a size 33 for sure.

thx for your recommendation! like your fit!
waistwise I totally agree as they seem to be rather big pre-soak. but the thighs might be too tight for me then (although BiG states the same measurement for size 33 and 34). Did you get them with arcs from G.?

thanks bf and your welcome! yeah, the thighs are a little tight but i think you might be okay. mine currently measure 12.5" but were 12" after two hot washes. hopefully this gives you a better idea. if anything drastically changes i will let you know so you have a better idea of what to expect if you get a pair.
