Given my complexion, that could not have looked good, but it did look pimp. One thing that was big in Kingston, Ontario, in 1987 or so, among the preteen set, were Kettle Creek (a small, now defunct outfitting company) cargo pants. I still resent my parents for not buying me a pair. I still can't do anything preppy. I overdosed on boat shoes and cardigans in grade 8.
