Silver buttons on peacoat

It's called a reefer jacket, and yes, it would only be worn by officers within the navy. As a civilian, it might be all right, but be mindful that to people who know, you're putting on a show of status you can't actually back up. EDIT: Where are the epaulets on the one in the picture? It actually looks halfway between a peacoat and a reefer jacket.

For a short period during the mid 70's the navy switched to the silver (pewter) buttons on pea coats. The coat pictured looks like a standard coat with those buttons. It's identical to other coats just the buttons are different.
