Would you wear a mid-red gingham shirt, like the classic picnic table cloth? I wear all other colors of gingham but am somewhat concerned about red because of this association. Update: Thanks to the positive feedback from this thread, I am now selling such a shirt: Slim fit red gingham check shirt

I have one in an open weave Oxford for summer. Haven't thought about getting a more formal one yet.

I have one that I wear regularly with a knit tie and a navy cotton suit. It's not a large gingham pattern (like you'd find in a tablecloth) but I still get someone every now and then who makes the association. I find the tie helps break up the sea of red and white. With a tie, people are less apt to make the usual tablecloth joke. I'll try to post a pic soon...you can judge for yourself.

I have one by Burberry that I enjoy. It's an odd creation in that it has a spread collar but also has epaulets. I usually match with a dark tie or jacket.

I don't really like it..

The squares are too big for a business classic suit...

Too casual...

With a very small pattern ,it looks great and I'm thinking of getting it as a bespoke shirt.

I wear one regularly. With a navy cashmere tie. Also with a black tie with small white polka dots. Looks great.
