It's actually a somewhat interesting comparison in the Manning / Brady context. Williams is statistically superior, by a mile. Except that DiMaggio has 9 WS championships to Williams' 0. The comparison breaks down somewhat, however, in that (I would argue) a single outfielder is not nearly as important to a baseball team as a quarterback is to a football team (hence less overall influence on the championship #'s).
