So I purchased some furniture for my condo from Room and Board and bought a Lowry model dresser. I put off buying a matching nightstand (or two), and it turns out they discontinued the line and are completely sold out company wide. While I will have to come up with other creative options for a bed-side table, I thought I throw out that if you know anyone wanting to get get rid of a Lowry nightstand in walnut, let me know (slim to almost impossible chance, I know). If you got suggestions with respect to what I can use in its place, that would work too.

The nightstand (this is in cherry, the walnut finish I need is represented below):

Dresser I'm trying to match:

Thanks for any leads (note, I've already done extensive searching on the web and making numerous calls to R&B to no avail).

I also found out the hard way the Room and Board frequently runs out of merchandise that it subsequently discontinues. I don't think dressers and nightstands have to match exactly, so you can probably find something that works just as well by going to places that sell the midcentury modern aesthetic. DWR is the one that comes to mind off the top of my head; I'm sure there are many others.

bedroom sets suck. just get something similar if you like the style. shouldn't be too hard to find something that will look appropriate with that dresser.

You could find something vintage, and more authentic and better built than R&B if you're willing to be patient and hunt a bit. Also, your SF iFriends will like you more.

Look for modern Danish design. Some examples:

Just forget the idea of finding a matching nightstand right now. Your bedroom will look better if you buy something that looks good and you like, regardless of whether it's part of the set or not.

FWIW, we use Saarinen-style tulip side tables like these as our night stands. They don't match anything in our bedroom, but they go with everything

Me too, except mine has the white marble top. The tulip table has to be one of the best designs ever.

i actually think it's cool that now you're forced to find something on your own instead of just getting the matching nightstand.
