just a question regarding to Chippewa "GQ" boots that's in stock at Zappos

are these the same boots as the one in Chippewa's site: #20065 6inch chocolate apache?

I thought the ones at zappos was supposedly an exclusive version, but wasn't too sure.

depends on if your feet are wide. im 8.5 in DB and 7.5 in these, my feet measure 7.5 EE on brannock. i fit into an 8 uncomfortably in DB

I used Fiebing's neatsfoot oil on my pair. They darkened just a bit and pretty much returned to their original color after two wears (one of them in rain).

I got a chance to get a picture of the inside of my katahdins. Here is the right (the "normal" one)
Photo%20Dec%2025%2C%209%2052%2041%20PM.jpg
and here is the left (the one which I think is split grain)

what do you guys think? The lot number is the same, so it seems weird that they would use different leather. Since they are sold out in my size I may just wear them through the winter and then if the left is really beat up (if it really is split grain), I'll take advantage of the bean warranty and see what they can do for me.

Curious as to what conditioner you used for these boots?

After reading this thread I can see there's no consensus on the best product to use on these boots, but if I'm looking for something that will make them last as long as possible while enabling me to go through occasional rain and snow, what's my best bet?

Yep, I used Obenauf's last winter. I pushed a lot of carts in the slush and water never got through. My boots are still looking good and have held up wonderfully.

It was some Red Wing conditioner in paste form...threw away the empty jar and not sure of product name.
