Are these two AE styles the same?

AE Park Ridge

AE Hinsdale

I considering buying these at Nordstrom ($209 free s/h) but the sole on the black one looks oddly thick. I found the identical style at AE.com under a different name and the sole looks a little thinner.
The Nordstrom pic shows the black sole being half as thick as the heel, while the AE pic shows it thinner. Anybody else notice a difference?

They look the same to me -- same medallion on the toe cap, same perforation patterns, etc. Don't know why they have two different names.

The 'double sole' on the brown one is the welt and the outsole.

Not terribly attractive shoes, IMO.

Maybe it's just made from a different last... or Park Ridge was discontinued (look at the old inside) and was brought back later as Hinsdale.

I am not a big fan of either.
Buy a pair of AE McAllisters instead.

Can somebody in the know explain to me what is so bad about the Hinsdales? I briefly owned a pair before i returned them due to defects, but the style seemed fine. Just wondering, thanks!

It's true, I don't.

Also, I don't see the problem with the number of posts I've made, have I offended someone?

Why does AE name their shoes after dreary Chicago suburbs? Whatever cachet or resonance these associations have in Chicago, and I can't believe there is much even there, is non-existent in the rest of the country.
