I work in a business casual environment. I have a job interview at the end of a normal workday for a higher position in my current department. The interview will take place in our meeting room about 30 feet from my desk. So question is, should I bring a suit to work and change into it right before the interview? I already outdress everyone in my department with my oxfords-trousers-OCBD-sweater combo I usually wear, so coming to work in a suit would draw excessive amounts of attention. What should I do? Just throw a tie into the usual combo or throw on a sport coat right before the interview?
Are you interviewing with people who already know you? If so, dressing more formally than you usually do would seem unnecessary to me and I usually advocate over-dressing for an interview.
