So for those who read the other thread, same tux, but I've decided I'm ok with the style and wanted to post decent fit pics. Still can't decide on the length. Please ignore the improper shirt/tie combo, the too-long trousers and the pocket flaps.

I like shorter jackets, but that's too short in my opinion.

Unfortunately, they don't make a long

. If they did, I feel that would be perfect.

Jacket is obviously too short, perhaps a little too roomy in the waist& chest areas, trousers are way too long and a little baggy in the around the crotch/upper thigh (no, I am not advocating ball cleveage).

Give your kid brother his tux back!

Do not wear that in public... unless you are trying to be ironic.

I'm assuming another .5in wouldn't make much difference? That's the 48 jacket, the 50 was about a half inch longer and still fit in the shoulders, but just needed the back taken in a bit.

Not possible to lengthen a jacket, right?

You just need a longer size, maybe another brand.

How tall are you?

I'm 6'1, but with a reasonably short torso (so I almost always buy a regular suit).

The tux is H&M, and unfortunately they don't make a long in that style.

I bought it because:

1. It was cheap ($190)

2. Besides the jacket length it fit very well

3. It was the only reasonably priced tux which follows "appropriate" black tie standards (once the pocket flaps and belt loops were removed) that also fit well without much if any tailoring that I've seen

Open to suggestions that don't involve B&S/eBay/used...

Shoulders and length are the two most important areas to consider. Shoulders MUST fit, and a jacket that is too long can be shortened by a TINY amount (1/2 -3/4 inch at most)-- too short, is too short-- no alteration possible.

Waist, sleeve length, chest, can all be tweaked.

Too short -- take it back and get the right size. If you already had it altered ( sleeves ), give it to your little brother ---- or--- get the pants shortened to above ankel, and go for the complete Pee WEE Herman look.
Maybe I don't understand your view point -- If they don't have your size -- GO SOMEPLACE ELSE

Yea, not having long sizes was the issue (see above). No alterations done yet, tags still on, a quick trip to H&M is all it'll take to get my $ back.
