For some reason, all my socks keep wearing out at the back (actually a little "outboard" of the back) of my foot.
New socks don't last more than maybe 3-4 uses?!
I know I don't walk funny or wear very tight shoes..why could this be?

I will guess that you are not washing them in cold water on the delicate cycle and then letting them line dry.

Cheap socks. I have a bunch from J Crew, Banana, and a few other places. There was a thread on these forums a year back about Target socks, I went out and bought a few pairs, and they all wore out in 3-4 wearings.

Cheap socks.

possible your shoes could be too loose and the extra movement is causing it. Or poor quality socks? Since you don't give many specifics, I will assume your feet sweat is filled with acidic bacteria.

Do you buy "one size fits all" socks or sized ones ? problem on the back of the sock could be because you are wearing the wrong size. Usually all socks are reinforced in the heel and in the toe, but if the sock is too small, the shoe hit the fabric where it is not reinforced and break it. Just an idea...but this could be just one of the possible ones.

People wear their socks more than once? Ugh. Do you also just eat dinner off the same plate and take a piss in an unflushed toilet. Go find a proper sock monger and step up your game.

I've worn mine at least 10 times with no signs of wear

Not the best quality but at $1 per pair I don't expect much...
