Going back to analog: recommend me a television

Artisan Fan and Andre have convinced me that analog is the way to go, so I was in the process of re-buying everything I care about...on vinyl. So far so good, but I want to take this to the next level

I've got one of them big digital HDTV's and decided that I can't stand the digitization, the pixelation, the faux/reproductive nature of it all. I want the purest picture I can get, and it only stands to reason that if analog is the gold standard for audio...then so it must be for video, as well.

So, I submit my post in an earnest bid to get your recommendations for a top-notch analog TV, something that would display the truest picture possible, without all that digital processing and "˜resolution' and other mumbo-jumbo. I want something that looks like I am there.

I'm curious what people have to say about this. I have a big vinyl collectiona and prefer analog audio for sure. I also understand where you are coming from on digital video but I'm not remotely convinced that tube televisions are really better. I never got around to upgrading televisions but it is on my list of things to do. Fwiw, I'm open to a trade.

I think your local home depot sells parts out front that would work for this model.

Make sure you only watch laserdisc, too. It's like the vinyl of the video world.

Laserdisc, you say. I haven't seen any of those in forever - they must be something special, like the elusive Betamax.

This sounds better and better. Where to kop?

I use a 24" from Capehart-Farnsworth. It runs just as great as it '54 release date. My 8-track fidelipac (also from '54) has been sounding better since styrofoam cup mounting (less resistance)
