I got some howard yount pants, but found their size 36 thighs were too slim for me - when I sat down, I could tell the seams were starting to stretch.

I'm looking at buying a pair of mabitex pants in 36, but am wondering if I am in for more of the same. Can anyone provide some insight?

Measure your HY pants, then compare them to Mabitex measurements on B&S. Not all Mabitex are cut the same, so there's no real definitive answer as to how they fit.

Mabis are very inconsistent.

Rise, thigh, cuff all vary significantly.

Best know your own measurements.

Mabitex pants come in a lot of different cuts. Some are very slim, some are relatively full cut. If you are buying on line, you'll need to look at the measurements.

I only have one pair of Mabitex and don't have any Howard Yount for comparison, but the Mabitex are very slim, I can't imagine that Howard Yount can be much slimmer. I think the Mabitex can vary a bit though, mine are European sized.

Just from looking at the measurements HY gives on his website, it seems that HY pants run a bit bigger than the Mabis I've seen. I've handled about 40 Mabis at this point, just to note. There are some Mabis that run this big, but those are as big as they run.

I don't know the fit on Epaulet pants, but you may want to try those. They seem to be popular.

Also, Pantas fit a bit bigger in the seat and thigh than Mabis, so you may also want to try them.

I have both HY and Mtex pants. I find HY's a tiny bit looser and more comfortable.

This.

As others have said, Mabitex varies quite a bit...but IME, Mabitex is way slimmer than HY (I own both).

Yes, they may be inconsistent, but frankly I sometimes think that sellers on B&S fudge the measurements a bit on some pants to make them seem more appealing. I notice some 32" that resemble 30" pants and vice versa.
