If you don't have to carry too much just get a nice messenger bag. I've got a Visconti that I've had for years and the more it gets beaten up, the better it looks:

i own the duluth that i posted earlier so not same style but they are built to last... awesome quality and it fits a ton of stuff surprisingly

i assume this can be applied to all the other styles as well
